RULES OF ENTRY:

Films must not have been completed before January 1st, 2022 and we prioritize US, International and World Premieres.

Filmmakers understand (UNLESS your entry is intended for inclusion to DWF:UNLEASHED, or non-competitive sections) that their entry cannot have any known individuals within their given project. NO KNOWN directors, actors, producers, writers or monies from known sources (i.e. “Imagine”). PLEASE NOTE that DWF:LA now has a non-competitive section that allows for high profile “names.”

Films cannot be tied to a U.S. DOMESTIC DISTRIBUTION DEAL to be considered for competitive sections.

Not all invited films officially selected will be eligible for competition.

Once selected, the filmmaker must make available a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) for projection. DWF does not project in any other format. (We often have deals with sponsors to significantly reduce any costs of production.)

AT LEAST ONE representative (producer or director) of each competitive project are required to be part of a Q&A session immediately following their screening(s).

Participants agree that clips from their film and all other material related to their project may be used and/or published in the event program, DWF web site and for any promotional purposes which DWF deems appropriate.

No viewing DVDs and/or promotional materials will be returned to the filmmaker.

If selected, all commercial/private property including ALL trademark copy-righted materials shown or recorded on the project is the responsibility of the filmmaker. DWF will NOT take responsibility for any infringement of copy-written materials.

Classification of film lengths: Music Videos; 10 minutes or less, Shorts (doc or narrative); 40 minutes or less, TV Pilots; 22 and 44 minutes (Half hour and One hour lengths are permissible), Webisodes; multiple episodes up to 15 minutes, Features may be 41 minutes or longer.

The cost of delivery and pick-up of all materials is the responsibility of the filmmaker including any awards won.

DWF holds no responsibility for lost or damaged prints. While the utmost care shall be taken with regard to prints, it is solely up to the filmmaker to take full responsibility (i.e. – insurance).
