Grad student ROSY LOOPER is in the last semester of her practicum before becoming a certified school psychologist. In her professional life, she’s composed and responsible — a perfect role model for a child. Outside of school, she’s a motorcycle-riding, pill-popping thrill seeker.

On her first day, Rosy volunteers to take the case of ELLA BETTANCOURT, a second-grader displaying mysterious behaviors. Rosy fears that Ella may be suffering abuse at home. To solve the case, she must confront her own history of trauma and convince Ella to do what she has never been able to do herself — open up.
